Hi there, I’m Anjali. I’m a yogi, certified personal trainer, solo practice attorney and freelance writer.
I know – those are a lot of hats! Well, I’m the type of person that loves wearing all those hats.
I believe strongly in “improvement through movement” – and that’s everything. Be it general fitness, weight loss, overall wellbeing, happiness, introspection: I think so many things about our lives can be improved through movement and self-expression – including just moving forward! This is one of the reasons I love teaching yoga and training fitness clients.
My yogic philosophy is to take what works for you and leave what doesn’t. My family is Indian and though I grew up with a lot of traditional yogic philosophy from my dad, I feel about yoga like I feel about most philosophies and religions of the world: there are some really, really great parts, and then there are some parts that don’t make a lot of sense to me. So with yoga, just like with anything else in my life, I believe in getting all the good you can from it and leaving the parts that don’t work for you.
I teach in a rebel, vinyasa style, with an emphasis on free-flowing movement linked to breath. I also believe in and teach barefoot fitness, or the idea that you don’t need a lot of equipment and a huge gym to get as fit as possible. For fitness outside yoga, I tend to stick to bodyweight movements as much as possible for both strength and flexibility.
Now about my practice: my specialty is intellectual property through my law firm, NowakowskiLaw.com. I do brand protection, trademark and copyright registrations, and IP agreements, including web agreements.
My freelance work has been seen in the following outlets, among others:
All of my writing, though, just like all of me, is about love.
Some boring resume stuff: I attended NYU Stern School of Business, obtaining my Bachelor’s in Marketing and International Business and then NYU School of Law, where I received my J.D. I am also Hubspot Inbound Marketing Certified and have my Diploma in Social Media Marketing from Alison online. I got my 500-Hour YTT from Heartwood Retreat Center in Bradenton, FL and I’m a certified personal trainer with NASM.
